The LipoDiet Pilot Study: Keto’s Role in Managing Lipedema Pain and Quality of Life

Today’s episode discusses the research conducted by the Nutrition Department at the University of Oslo in Norway. The study, titled Effect of a Ketogenic Diet on Pain and Quality of Life in Patients with Lipedema: The LIPODIET Pilot Study, was published in the journal Obesity Science & Practice in December 2021. Dr. Siren Nymo, one of the study's authors, presented these findings at our Ketogenic Solution for Lymphatic/Fat Disorders virtual symposium in November 2020. This research is particularly significant for women with lipedema, as it confirms the anecdotal evidence we've seen over the past five years: a ketogenic diet can lead to improvements in pain management and weight loss, especially when low-fat, low-calorie diets have failed.
